Which book’s world would be the absolute worst to live in?
I have to preface this by saying I liked the books; however, the brutality of those games was almost too much for me to read. I was teaching English when several students raved about this trilogy, and I always tried to keep up with what my students liked. I believe where I live now would be where Katniss lived. When the movies came out, my daughter and I saw each one. They were heartbreaking. You see, I’m a reader who only imagines evil to a certain extent extent because I’m an empath, and as I’ve gotten older, I have a lot less tolerance for blood, gore, and horror, maybe because I feel it more or because it’s in the real world more. I loved that Katniss was such a courageous hero, never giving up on what she believed was right, but her choices didn’t keep all the ones she loved safe. She didn’t want to be a hero. I understand there is now another movie, extending the story, but I truly don’t want to visit that world either.
