What’s something you’ve done that you never thought you could?
The Americans are Coming!
I always wanted to visit the British Isles. What English teacher wouldn’t, but I had never been out of the country, much less own a passport. Finally, I got the chance to go IF I got six students to travel with me. I got the girls signed up, and, then I got scared. Oh no! I was in charge of everything. The tour was through England starting in London and finishing up in Glasgow, Scotland. We were even going to Stratford and see a Shakespearean play! Everything was pre planned for us. All I had to do was take care of the girls’ and get us to Philly airport. I had never traveled in the air for more than two hours and not over the Atlantic. I literally got sick from anxiety, but too late! As long as I could keep my fear tamped down…it was the most amazing thing I had ever done by myself. I remember every blooming second of it!
The funniest part of it was shushing the girls at Buckingham Palace when they played “God Save the Queen.” No! No! It’s not “My Country ‘Tis of Thee.” We nearly sparked a second Revolution. And that was after we met Prince Charles.

Next time visit York, Liverpool, Edinburgh and you must visit the Scottish highlands and the Lake District 👍🏻
